David Oduor

Program Officer | Driver of inclusive education | Managing Director

David leads the library with a strong belief that inclusive, community-rooted education can change lives. Guided by the principle “If the children are well, the nation is well,” he focuses on creating safe learning spaces where underserved youth can grow, learn, and thrive.

With experience in education and community development, David designs and oversees literacy, digital learning, and youth empowerment programs. He has successfully led grant development and donor engagement to support impactful projects in underserved communities.

His work bridges grassroots innovation with sustainable, community-led models—unlocking opportunity and shaping future leaders from Mathare and beyond.

Kevin Olengo

Program Officer | Library Coordinator | Learning Supervisor

Kevin is the engine that keeps the library running—every single day.

As Library Coordinator and Supervisor, he manages daily operations, learner access, and the overall learning environment. From opening and closing the library to overseeing book access, internet connectivity, and a safe, focused study space, Kevin ensures everything runs smoothly.

Beyond operations, he is a dedicated educator and mentor. As the library’s Chess Master, Chess Instructor, and Skating Coach, Kevin uses strategy, discipline, and play to build sharp minds and confident learners.

When challenges arise, Kevin is the go-to person—reliable, hands-on, and deeply committed to keeping the library a place where learning never stops.

Damaris Odhiambo

Library Coordinator | Library Supervisor

Damaris is a passionate advocate and mentor for young women in Mathare. She leads the distribution of sanitary towels, provides practical guidance, and supports girls as they navigate challenges both inside and outside the library. Through mentorship, she inspires confidence, self-discipline, and purpose, helping each girl grow into a strong, independent young woman.

More than a mentor, Damaris is a true agent of change, creating safe spaces where girls feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. Her work ensures that every girl in the library not only has access to resources but also the guidance to shape her own future.

David Kanguto

Program Officer | Library Coordinator | Library supervisor

David ensures learning reaches every student—consistently and on time.

As Library Coordinator, he oversees the daily distribution of learning materials and student support, working closely with the Smiley Tutor web platform to make sure learners access the right resources when they need them. His role keeps the library organized, responsive, and learner-focused.

Reliable and detail-driven, David plays a key role in making sure learning doesn’t stop—inside the library and beyond.

Novin Novine

Library Coordinator | Library Supervisor

Novine is a trusted support system and strong advocate for girls within the library.

She plays a key role in the distribution of sanitary towels and supports the Girls Club, ensuring girls have both the resources and guidance they need to stay confident, focused, and in control of their future. Through mentorship and open conversations, she helps girls navigate personal challenges with dignity and self-belief.

Compassionate and action-driven, Novine is an agent of change—making the library a safe, supportive space where girls are empowered to grow and thrive.
